Steven Fowler graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, earning his undergraduate degree in Zoology with an emphasis in Human Biology. He then moved to Maryland to complete his physician assistant certification before receiving his Master of Medical Science from Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania.
While his career as a physician assistant includes working in several specialties including: interventional cardiology, pulmonology, sleep medicine, and acute medical care, his true passion is dermatology. Steven loves treating all conditions in dermatology, however, treating skin cancer is near and dear to his heart because he has a family history of skin cancer. “Growing up in Florida, I spent my days in the sun, and now I am seeing the aging effects of sun damage to my body. I hope to help educate others on skin cancer awareness and prevention,” says Steven. He also enjoys enhancing his patients’ health and self-confidence.
Some highlights of his career include managing a lung cancer clinic at the Department of Veteran’s Affairs in Las Vegas, Nevada and serving as a first responder during the COVID-19 crisis. Steven is a member of the American Association of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatological Physician Assistants.
Although Steven grew up in Clearwater, Florida, he spent two years serving a church mission in the Houston area as a young adult. It was then that he fell in love with Texas and wanted to raise his family here. In addition to spending time with his family and dogs, he enjoys hiking, rappelling, and camping.
