Dr. Dustin Wilkes grew up in a small farming community near Lubbock, Texas. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry at the University of North Texas in Denton and received his medical degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010. He went on to complete his internship at Corpus Christi Medical Center in 2011.
He completed a residency in dermatology at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, affiliated with Michigan State University, in 2014. He won numerous awards including the Daniel Koprince, DO, Award for Education, given to the top resident presentation.
Patients appreciate Dr. Wilkes’ comprehensive approach to the treatment of their skin disorders. He approaches each patient individually, taking into account all factors pertaining to the patient’s problems. He spends an extensive amount of time getting to know each patient so he can best tailor their therapy.
Dr. Dustin Wilkes is an adjunct faculty member of Michigan State University and John Peter Smith Hospital, where he teaches medical students and residents. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, American Society for Mohs Surgery, Texas Osteopathic Medical Association, Tarrant County Medical Society, Texas Dermatologic Society, and the Texas Medical Association.
In addition to general dermatology, Dr. Dustin Wilkes specializes in advanced aesthetic surgery as well as cosmetic dermatology. He is a board-certified dermatologist through the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology and practices in Weatherford & Granbury, Texas.
