Notice of Data Incident

U.S. Dermatology Partners (“USDP”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of patient information. We recently determined that certain patients’ information was involved in a security incident. While there is no evidence that this incident resulted in fraud or misuse of the information involved, USDP is notifying impacted individuals and providing information about the incident and steps they can take.

What Happened?

On June 19, 2024, USDP experienced a network disruption. Upon detecting the incident, we quickly took steps to secure our network, immediately initiated our incident response processes and began an investigation with the assistance of external forensic experts. The investigation determined that an unauthorized party accessed our network and, on June 19, 2024, transferred certain files to an external destination. We conducted a comprehensive review and analysis of those files to determine what information they contained, which was recently completed on April 2, 2025.

What Information Was Involved?

The information involved varied by individual, but may include information such as names, dates of birth, medical record number, health insurance information, or information related to the dermatology services received at one of our managed practices. For a limited number of patients, Social Security and/or driver’s license numbers were also contained in the files involved.

What USDP Is Doing

USDP takes this incident very seriously. To help prevent something like this from happening again, we implemented additional measures to further strengthen the security of our information technology systems and the information we maintain.

On May 30, 2025, we began mailing letters to patients whose information was involved. While, to date, we are unaware of any misuse of patients’ information, as a precaution, USDP is offering complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services to individuals whose Social Security number and/or driver’s license number was involved. Patients are also encouraged to review the statements they receive from their health insurer and to contact the insurer immediately if they see any services they did not receive.

For More Information. USDP has established a dedicated, toll-free call center to answer questions about this incident.  Patients with questions may call the call center at 855-260-8481, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Central Time.
