Dr. Ali Damavandy is a board-certified dermatologist who specializes in skin cancer surgery, including Mohs micrographic surgery and the subsequent reconstruction. He underwent rigorous fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery, dermatological oncology and procedural dermatology at one of the most prestigious programs in the country at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.
He was accepted into the accelerated 7-year BA/MD program at George Washington University, earning a bachelor of science degree in biology, summa cum laude, with a 4.0 GPA and graduating as the valedictorian of his medical school class. Dr. Ali Damavandy completed his internship in internal medicine at Harvard Medical School’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA, and his residency in dermatology at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., where he served as Chief Resident in his final year.
He is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa, Alpha Omega Alpha, and Gold Humanism Medical Honor Societies. He is also a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American College of Mohs Surgery. He has served in national leadership positions for the field of dermatology, authored several manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and book chapters, and lectures nationally on the topics of cutaneous oncology and reconstructive surgery.
