We strive to provide the best possible care for the medical, surgical and cosmetic needs of our patients. Dr. Sander believes it is important to practice the three “A’s” emphasized at the Mayo Clinic, where he trained in dermatology—to be Able, Amiable, and Available.
Medical dermatology includes treating common disorders of the skin, hair and nails, such as acne, eczema, dermatitis, infections of the skin, vitiligo, hair loss, psoriasis and skin allergies. However, Dr. Sander is also board-certified in internal medicine and has expertise in treating rare skin diseases such as cutaneous T cell lymphoma and lupus erythematosus.
Screening patients for skin cancer is one of the most important tasks in our office. Melanoma is a potentially fatal skin cancer, and dermatologists are the frontline defenders in the fight against this serious health problem. Complete skin examinations are important because they are helpful in detecting moles, which may have a serious risk of developing into cancer. Of course, checking the skin for common pre-cancerous growths like actinic keratosis as well as basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma are a part of the complete skin examination.

“I had a cyst that doubled in size near the top of my eye, and I called the emergency line. They got me in as soon as they opened. Dr. Sander is a great dermatologist. He took his time answering all 20 questions I had. I’ve had a few other appointments beforehand for acne issues, and he was very informative about things I should avoid to lessen breakouts. I recommend Dr. Sander if you want a dermatologist who is very knowledgeable and cares about his patients.” – Linda B.
“I really appreciate Dr. Sander’s expertise and bedside manner. He makes you feel very comfortable and listens to all of your concerns. He has so much experience in the field and has been named one of Texas’ SuperDoctors. I have been to other dermatologists, and he is the best I’ve been to. As an aesthetician, I refer my clients to his office for their general skin checks and additional issues.” – D.R.
