Dr. Kennedy is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a longstanding member of the American Academy of Dermatology. He attended medical school in Arizona at Midwestern University with a U.S. Air Force scholarship. He completed an internship in family medicine at Andrews AFB in Maryland, before serving 3 years as a Flight Surgeon for the 93rd Air Refueling Squadron at Fairchild AFB in Spokane, Washington. He was then selected for a dermatology residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center and Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Upon completing residency, Dr. Kennedy was Chief Dermatologist at Andrews AFB, Maryland and staff dermatologist at the Pentagon Flight Medicine Clinic.
After 10 years in the Air Force, Dr. Kennedy returned to Arizona and practiced at U.S. Dermatology Partners (formerly Beatrice Keller Clinic) in Sun City West for 13 years. He has now returned to Virginia after coming to love the state during his military years to open a new clinic in Midlothian to provide comprehensive dermatologic care to residents of the Richmond and surrounding communities.
Dr. Kennedy enjoys the complexity of medical and surgical dermatology and loves the opportunity to meet and care for people. When not at work he loves playing sports, hiking and spending time with his family.
