Mahtaub Darvish earned her Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech and her Master of Physician Assistant studies at Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA. She remained at Shenandoah University earning her Doctor of Medical Science.
Mahtaub is no stranger to our practice, having previously worked as a medical assistant and a physician assistant student in our Centreville office. “Through my experiences in dermatology, I have developed a strong passion for helping people feel more confident and comfortable in their own skin”, says Mahtaub. “I am drawn to dermatology because of my love for science and art and my desire to make a difference in people’s lives.” Trained by Dr. Neeaja Mattay and Dr. Robert Silverman, Mahtaub believes skin conditions, whether medical or cosmetic, can have a significant impact on a person’s self-esteem and quality of life.
Mahtaub finds it immensely rewarding to diagnose and treat a variety of skin conditions and witness the positive impact it can have on a patient’s well-being. Her clinical interests include acne, eczema, psoriasis, and skin cancer screenings. She is dedicated to delivering individualized, empathetic, and patient-centered care. As the former diversity and inclusion representative of her physician assistant program, Mahtaub prioritizes creating a supportive and safe environment where her patients feel heard and valued. She is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.
