AccuTite Treatment from U.S. Dermatology Partners

What is AccuTite?

AccuTite is a state-of-the-art contraction tool that utilizes Radio-Frequency Assisted Lipolysis (RFAL) technology to reduce the appearance of unwanted fat stores by liquefying fat cells and tightening the skin to avoid a sagging or shriveled appearance. Radiofrequency tools deliver thermal energy into the skin in a targeted area, removing unwanted fat cells and promoting the development of collagen and elastin to firm and smooth skin for a more youthful appearance. Results that used to be possible only with surgical interventions like a facelift or tummy tuck may now be achievable with a simple, minimally invasive treatment plan, using AccuTite. Because the AccuTite hand tool is very small, it can be used to improve the appearance of hard to access areas that were previously not treatable with larger radiofrequency technology. Now, you can receive precision treatment in less than half an hour under local anesthesia – no surgery, no scars, no downtime.

How Does it Work?

AccuTite uses a dual-sided cannula and electrode to deliver radiofrequency energy externally over the surface of the skin and internally targeting deeper layers of skin and fat cell stores. The heat delivered through the AccuTite tool gently melts away extra fat. Where lasers tone the skin and reduce the appearance of scars and sagging skin from the outside in, the AccuTite system begins firming the skin from the inside out, causing the skin cells below the surface to contract and tighten and encouraging an increase in the production of collagen and elastin. Not only does this help to reduce skin irritation after treatment, but it also delivers longer-lasting results than other treatment options.

Who is a Good Candidate for AccuTite?

In order to determine if you’re a good candidate for AccuTite, one of our dermatologists will carefully examine your skin, review your health history, and help you select the best treatment to address your needs ensuring you achieve your dermatologic goals. We typically recommend AccuTite for male and female patients who are looking to improve the appearance of excess or sagging skin as well as reducing fat stores. Because there is little to no downtime, AccuTite treatment is a great option for busy professionals. Even very small areas that require precision (like the eyelids) can be treated using the very small AccuTite hand tools. The innovative AccuTite system can be used to address excess fat and skin laxity in all of the following areas:

  • Facial contouring to reduce sagging skin or fat buildup around the brow, eyelids, cheeks, nasolabial folds, lower face, mouth, and jaw
  • A non-invasive alternative to neck and chin lifts
  • Non-surgical tummy tuck
  • Reduction of axilla (bra line) fat stores
  • Upper arm and hand shaping
  • Thigh, knee, and leg shaping
  • Feminine rejuvenation

How is AccuTite Treatment Performed?

Before we recommend any cosmetic solution, our knowledgeable dermatologists will want to sit down with you for a consultation to discuss your treatment goals and health history to ensure you’re receiving the best possible care. If we elect AccuTite, we’ll schedule an appointment for you to visit us for your treatment session. On the day of treatment, you’ll receive a mild local anesthetic to ensure you remain comfortable throughout your time in our office. Once the treatment area is numb, the AccuTite probe is placed into the target area, and a second tool called an electrode is positioned on the surface of the skin. Applied for 20 to 45 minutes, depending on the size of the area, radiofrequency energy flows back and forth between the two parts of the AccuTite system, melting away fat cells and tightening the skin. The state-of-the-art system monitors the temperature and level of radiofrequency, which can be continually adjusted in real-time to ensure the best results. For optimal safety, the AccuTite system has an automatic cut off if unsafe temperatures are reached. Depending on the individual patient’s needs, cannulas may be used to remove fat cells after the radiofrequency treatment. In most cases, the fat cells are simply absorbed back into the body and shed naturally.

How Long Does AccuTite Treatment Take?

Depending on the size of the area to be treated, the AccuTite procedure itself is performed in as little as 15 minutes. Even the longest treatments are usually completed in less than an hour.

Are There any Side Effects to AccuTite Treatment?

Before we ever begin treatment, we’ll talk about any potential concerns and risks associated with AccuTite. For best results, we usually only recommend AccuTite for non-smokers, and we encourage patients to avoid sun exposure following treatment. Most patients make a complete recovery within a week following treatment. Immediately following the procedure, it’s normal to experience some minor swelling and bruising. Some patients report irritation to the skin, and the treated area may be more sensitive to sunlight. To ensure safety and the efficacy of results, we encourage patients to avoid strenuous exercise for about two weeks after treatment, but most daily activities can be resumed immediately after treatment. We may encourage you to wear a compression garment for the first few days after treatment to help with swelling and improve the long term results.

How Soon Will I See Results?

You will likely see some improvement immediately following your AccuTite treatment session, but as the treated area continues to heal and fat cells are processed out of the body, you may continue to see improvement for four to six months after treatment. We usually schedule a follow-up appointment three to six months after your session to ensure you’ve achieved your desired results.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Most patients will only need a single treatment per target area. If for some reason, you’re not happy with the results after your first session, we may recommend additional AccuTite treatments or take a look at other options that might be more beneficial.

How Long Will Results Last?

Treatment with AccuTite is essentially permanent. However, there’s no way to permanently halt the aging process, so you may see accrual of new fat stores or sagging skin over time. In most cases, the results will last several years. Depending on individual needs, we may recommend retreatment about every five years or as often as continued aging and changes to the skin require.
