About Daxxify

Daxxify is the latest injectable treatment approved by the FDA to improve the appearance of frown lines. Learn more about what Daxxify is.Daxxify, daxibotulinumtoxin A or daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm, is an innovative new neurotoxin injectable treatment that delivers results like those that are possible with Botox, Jeuveau, and other botulinum toxin injections. Daxxify uses the clostridium botulinum bacteria and the protein RTP004 to temporarily halt muscle contractions that lead to wrinkles and increase the appearance of fine lines. The RTP004 protein is used to stabilize Daxxify during shipping and storage, but it is also proven to stabilize the ingredients after injection, leading to longer-lasting results. Receiving regular injections as directed by your dermatologist, relaxes the muscles and diminishes the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Daxxify was formulated specifically to address the appearance of frown lines and wrinkles around the eyes, between the eyebrows, and on the forehead.

Before treatment, the injection sites are cleaned. Numbing cream can be applied to minimize discomfort during treatment, but most patients can tolerate the mildly uncomfortable, pinching sensation of administration even without topical numbing. Each person’s specific Daxxify treatment plan will vary based on their specific needs, but most dermatologists will recommend injections at the sides of the eye (crow’s feet area) above the eyebrows, and between the eyebrows. The needle used to administer Daxxify is a very small gauge, and the entire treatment only takes about ten to fifteen minutes.

Immediately following and for a day after treatment, you may notice some redness or mild bruising around the injection site. These initial effects after injection typically clear up within a few hours of treatment. Results begin to develop within a few days of treatment, and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles will continue to diminish for up to two weeks after the initial treatment.

Following your first treatment session, your dermatologist may want to schedule a check-in session after a few weeks or a month to ensure you’re seeing the desired results. They may also ask you to come in after three or four months to ensure the longevity of results and schedule your retreatment visit. Once your dermatologist has a good idea of how your body will process Daxxify, they will set up a regular retreatment schedule to ensure you maintain results.

Daxxify Treatment – Are You a Candidate?

Daxxify is recommended for temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe fine lines and facial wrinkles. Patients who have moderate to severe frown lines are especially likely to benefit from Daxxify, but it has proven most beneficial to improve the appearance of glabellar (frown) lines and fine lines and wrinkles on the top half of the face.

This FDA-approved neurotoxin injection is safe for most people, but there are situations when Daxxify isn’t the right option.
