Courtney Scamardo, PA-C, grew up in Navasota, Texas, where she was introduced to medicine by her father, a small-town internal medicine doctor. After graduating on the Dean’s List from McComb’s Business School at the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in Marketing, she decided the medical world was her true calling. She earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in 2014. Courtney has been practicing dermatology in the Austin area for more than 10 years and is excited to return to U.S. Dermatology Partners.
She is currently a member of the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants, the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Central Texas Physician Assistant Society. She has been certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners.
Courtney believes the partnership between patient and provider in dermatology sets it apart from many other fields and she enjoys being able to have such a positive effect on people’s lives by treating their skin conditions.
Outside the clinic, Courtney is equal parts sports fanatic, adventurous traveler, and unapologetic foodie. You’ll often find her cheering at live games with friends and family or posted up at home with her husband, their two dogs, Biff Suzanne and Finnigan Tom Petty and their 31-year-old ball python, Rastis.
