HyrdraFacials from U.S. Dermatology Partners

What Is a HydraFacial?

A HydraFacial is a hydradermabrasion treatment designed to refresh and rejuvenate your skin. Without downtime or irritation, it provides instant results and leaves your skin looking healthier and younger. The three-step process begins by cleansing and exfoliating your skin, then finishes by infusing your skin with a targeted “booster” serum designed to address your specific skin conditions and concerns.

How Does It Work?

A HydraFacial uses a handpiece to gently “vacuum” out your pores while at the same time replenish your skin with a targeted serum. Unlike facials with painful extractions, the experience is gentle and relaxing, and it won’t leave your skin red or inflamed.

Who Is a Good Candidate for HydraFacial Treatments?

Most everyone is a good candidate for a HydraFacial because it can be tailored to the specific needs of each individual’s skin. Whether you’re a teenager with acne or an adult with pimples, wrinkles, sun damage or pre-cancerous spots, the HydraFacial can be tailored to treat your specific condition.

Following a skin evaluation and sensitivity test, your dermatologist or skin care provider will be able to choose the specific serums that are most beneficial to your skin type. This means that even individuals with sensitive skin are usually good candidates for the treatment.

HydraFacials are not a suitable treatment for deeper wrinkles, scars, deep hyperpigmentation problems or broken veins in the skin.

What Happens During a HydraFacial?

After cleansing and exfoliating your skin with a deplaning tool to open your pores and remove dead skin cells, you’ll receive a light acid peel to dissolve the damaged, dead layer of skin. Then an extraction nozzle is used to remove dirt, debris and oil from your pores.

Finally, a handpiece called a “vortex-infusion tool” is used to infuse an antioxidant- and collagen-rich serum onto your skin to promote elasticity and hydration, or to address specific issues like dark spots, sun damage or discolorations.

How Long Does a HydraFacial Take?

The HydraFacial is fast and efficient, with treatments usually taking just 30 to 45 minutes. Because it’s non-invasive, you’ll be able to reapply your makeup and return to work or other normal activities as soon as you’re finished.

Are There Any Side Effects?

Although the treatment is painless, some patients will experience a slight tightness or redness that goes away within an hour or two after treatment. Very rarely, individuals with sensitive skin may experience swelling around the eyes or redness that continues for more than a day, but it can be treated with cold compresses.

What Kind of Results Will I See — and How Soon Will I See Them?

For many clients, the results are immediate, and you will probably notice that your skin feels smoother and looks more radiant in the days following the treatment. Much like microdermabrasion, you’ll see fresher, healthier looking skin emerge after treatment.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

HydraFacials are most effective when they are done consistently. One treatment a month will help keep skin looking fresh and restored and will continue to lessen the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It will also help get rid of brown spots or oily skin.

Your dermatologist can help create a treatment program based on the results you want and the condition of your skin.
