The newest technology in IPL treatments is called Broad Band Light – BBL for short. This revolutionary innovation uses advanced dual-lamp technology to correct homely skin conditions such as acne, rosacea and sun damage. The BBL Photofacial technology penetrates the top of the skin down through the layers deep beneath the surface, which cannot be reached by a topical product alone.
Consult with your dermatologist to learn if BBL Photofacials can help you transform your acne, acne scaring, age or sun spots, uneven skin pigmentation, broken capillaries, redness or rosacea into glowing, radiant skin.
The eligibility of patients with a history of oral herpes will be determined on an individual basis and may need to pre-treat with an anti-viral prior to their scheduled visit. BBL Photofacials are not a viable treatment for those who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
BBL Photofacials help restore the natural beauty of your skin by administering an intense pulsed light, which rejuvenates new skin cells by targeting p-acne bacteria on the surface and in the sebaceous glands.
Unwanted blood-vessels and redness caused by Rosacea can be treated by using BLL’s gentle heated light which targets the vascular network within the skin. Although there is no permanent cure for Rosacea, BBL can reduce the symptoms and help revive your skin, improving its color, clarity, texture and tone.
This gentle, noninvasive treatment can be used on the face, neck, chest, shoulders, backs of hands, or any other desired area. Typically, treatments start in series of three, with a three to four week waiting period between sessions. With each treatment, the intensive light will reach deeper levels of the skin to continue improving the highest pigmented areas. Yearly appointments will insure that your skin stays beautiful and luminous.
The immediate side effects of BBL Photofacials can include a mild sunburn sensation or minor swelling that usually abates within a few hours. Your skin may also flake as it heals.
Avoid additional skin treatments, such as tanning, bleaching, exfoliating or glycolic acids for seven to fourteen days post treatment. Be gentle with your skin and moisturize following treatment and do not use irritants such as Retin-A, Retinol or Renovo while the skin heals.
Once the treated area has healed, the spots or blemishes that the treatment removed will not reappear. BBL does not prevent new spots from developing in the future, but microdermabrasion preformed between and post treatment will enhance chances of the skin remaining pure. Consistent sessions over the course of four months will produce the best results.
