Read Full Article HereFor Liberty Hill resident Brandi Egizio, the opening of U.S. Dermatology Partners’ newest location is about more than expanding access to medical care. It is an opportunity to care for families in the community she has called home for nearly a decade.
U.S. Dermatology Partners officially opened its Liberty Hill office Aug. 3 at 14001 Hwy. 29, Ste. 203, expanding the organization’s Central Texas network into one of the region’s rapidly growing communities.
Egizio, a certified physician assistant, leads the Liberty Hill location while continuing to see patients at the practice’s Cedar Park office. She has lived in Liberty Hill since 2017, raising two daughters in the community. Her oldest graduated two years ago, while her youngest is now a senior.
For Egizio, bringing dermatology services to Liberty Hill was something she had hoped would happen long before the doors officially opened.
“Honestly, the draw for me to come work for this company was the hope that they would be doing something like this in the future,” Egizio said. “That future, once real estate landed, turned out to be like four years later, but it worked out and here we are. So, very, very excited.”
A Texas native who grew up in the Panhandle, Egizio spent 18 years in the Chicago area before she and her husband decided to return to Texas in 2017. She graduated from physician assistant school in 2003 and spent nearly 12 years working in primary care and internal medicine before an opportunity led her to dermatology in 2015.
For the past four years, she has divided her time between U.S. Dermatology Partners locations in Georgetown and Cedar Park. Now, she gets to bring that experience closer to home.
The Liberty Hill office primarily provides medical dermatology for patients of all ages. Services include treatment for acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea and childhood skin conditions, along with skin cancer screenings and some skin cancer removal. Egizio also offers some cosmetic dermatology services, including Botox injections. More specialized procedures, including Mohs surgery, can be referred to other physicians within the U.S. Dermatology Partners network.
Although the office has only been open a few weeks, Egizio said one of her favorite parts has already been seeing familiar faces walk through the door.
“Some of the people that I already know, that I have relationships with through my daughters, the children or their parents, that has happened numerous times already,” she said. “I love taking care of families. You know, ‘Oh, you see my daughter, so I want to see you, and now my husband’s coming and now my grandma’s coming.’ Those are the kinds of relationships that I really like to build with the families.”
Finding the right home for the practice took time. Egizio said one of the challenges was the limited amount of existing medical space available in Liberty Hill when the search began.
“There just wasn’t a lot of established medical real estate or something that you could easily utilize as another medical practice,” she said. “I think just finding the right space for that was a bit of a challenge at first, but since they picked the location and kind of started the build-out, it was so smooth.”For Egizio, accessibility is one of the biggest benefits the new office can provide.While Liberty Hill’s rapid growth has transformed much of the community, there are still residents in surrounding areas who may put off specialty care because it requires traveling elsewhere.
“There are people out there that may be sitting on a lesion that they’re not sure about, and hopefully this will give them the opportunity to be close to a practice where they can come in and get the evaluation started,” Egizio said. “So many of these things, like skin cancers, are so very treatable if you find them early and just take care of them.”
On the other end of the age spectrum, Egizio hopes the office will become a convenient resource for Liberty Hill’s growing number of young families.
