DENVER — U.S. Dermatology Partners(“USDP”), formerly known as Dermatology Associates, is pleased to announce that it has entered the state of Colorado by partnering with the Center for Advanced Dermatology (“CAD”). CAD has a team of three physicians on staff, all of whom are board-certified, and together they have over forty years of experience in dermatology. U.S. Dermatology Partners is a physician-owned, dermatology-focused practice management organization.
Dr. Michaela McDonnell, a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicine, completed her internship at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver. After her internship, she returned to the University of Iowa College of Medicine for her dermatology residency training. Dr. McDonnell’s professional interests include skin cancer screening, dermatologic surgery, acne, eczema, psoriasis, and alopecia. She offers a wide array of cosmetic and surgical procedures as well. Dr. McDonnell is active in several professional associations, including the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Academy of Dermatology, Colorado Dermatologic Society (past president), and the Colorado Medical Society, among others.
Dr. David Hurt is a Colorado native and received his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine, graduating at the top of his class, and was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, a prestigious medical honor society. He completed his internship at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and his dermatology residency training at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Hurt’s professional specialties include dermatologic surgery, skin cancer screening and treatments, acne, eczema, and psoriasis. In addition, he specializes in a wide array of cosmetic and surgical procedures. Dr. Hurt is professionally affiliated with several medical associations, including the American Academy of Dermatology, Colorado Dermatologic Society, and the Colorado Medical Society, among others.
Dr. Kira R. Giovanielli earned her undergraduate degree from Princeton University and her medical degree from the Yale University School of Medicine. She went on to complete both her internship and dermatology residency at Yale, serving as chief resident in her final year. Dr. Giovanielli moved to Colorado in 2006 and was in private practice in the Golden area before joining the Center for Advanced Dermatology. Her professional specialties include skin cancer screening, surgical procedures, acne, eczema, psoriasis, alopecia, rosacea, and pediatric dermatology. In addition, she specializes in multiple cosmetic procedures.
Joining the physicians of Center for Advanced Dermatology are their two highly-experienced midlevel providers: Ken Wright, M.S., PA-C; and MaryAnn Straley, FNP-C.
