U.S. Dermatology Partners (“USDP”), formerly known as Dermatology Associates, is pleased to announce that it has expanded further in Texas with the acquisition of two separate practices: Medical Center Dermatology in Houston, and Lakeway Dermatology in Bee Cave, TX. U.S. Dermatology Partners is a dermatology-focused physician services and management organization providing premier dermatologic care.
Medical Center Dermatology
Medical Center Dermatology (“MCD”) was founded in 1994 by Dr. Elizabeth Basler and offers a full suite of general dermatology, surgical and cosmetic dermatology services. MCD has a team of 3 physicians on staff, all of whom are board-certified. Dr. Basler has been practicing dermatology in the Houston area since 1989 and earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in 1985. Her postgraduate training included a transitional internship at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston, TX and a dermatology residency at Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Annette Harris is a native Houstonian and has practiced dermatology since 1993. She earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, and then went on to complete her transitional internship and dermatology residency also at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Harris practices general and cosmetic dermatology and is an active member of several local and national professional associations.
Dr. Allyson Kopel has been practicing dermatology since 2005, treating both medical and cosmetic conditions. She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and completed her post-graduate training in dermatology at Louisiana State University School of Medicine.

Lakeway Dermatology
Dr. Mary Ana Cunningham is a native of New Braunfels, TX (outside of San Antonio), and founded Lakeway Dermatology in 2002. Dr. Cunningham earned her medical degree from The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Following medical school, she went on to complete a yearlong internship at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, TX, and a three-year dermatology residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX. Dr. Cunningham specializes in cosmetic and surgical dermatology.
Dr. Carlo Gavino is board-certified in dermatology, dermatopathology, and anatomic and clinical pathology. Dr. Gavino received his medical degree at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine. He completed a pathology residency at UT Southwestern in Dallas, TX, and a dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He then completed his dermatology residency at the University of Texas at Austin.
