U.S. Dermatology Partners Bolsters its Presence in Maryland by Partnering with Annapolis Dermatology Center

U.S. Dermatology Partners strengthens its presence in Maryland with the addition of Annapolis Dermatology Center.

Annapolis, MD – U.S. Dermatology Partners(“USDP”) is pleased to announce that it has acquired Annapolis Dermatology Center. U.S. Dermatology Partners is a physician-owned, dermatology-focused practice management organization.

Founded in 1991, Annapolis Dermatology Center (“ADC”) has ten providers on staff and together they offer a full suite of dermatological services including medical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatopathology. With a single location in Annapolis, ADC’s premier dermatology facility is also easily accessible for patients located within the greater Baltimore and Washington D.C. metropolitan areas.

Beth Diamond, MD received her medical degree from the University of Maryland, School of Medicine and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She completed her pediatric residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT and was then appointed Chief Resident and Associate Instructor in Pediatrics at the Yale University School of Medicine. She subsequently completed a dermatology residency at the University of Illinois. Dr. Diamond has been in private practice in dermatology in Annapolis since completing her residency. She is a Fellow with the American Academy of Dermatology, a Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology and a Member of the American Medical Association. Dr. Diamond is board-certified in dermatology and her areas of interest include adult and pediatric dermatology, dermatologic surgery and cosmetic dermatology.

Gail Goldstein, MD attended medical school at New York University, where she graduated with honors in molecular and cellular biology. She completed her medical training in dermatology at the University of Maryland and then joined the Annapolis Dermatology Center. Dr. Goldstein practices both general and cosmetic dermatology and has lectured on subjects such as dermatological diseases of pregnancy, skin cancer prevention, the ethics of cosmetic surgery and medical volunteerism. She recently returned from a year of medical volunteering in South America and Southeast Asia with her family and is the former recipient of ‘What’s Up Annapolis Top Doctor’ and Chesapeake Family’s ‘Favorite Docs for Dermatology’. Dr. Goldstein is board-certified in dermatology.

Christine Ambro, MD graduated cum laude from the Jefferson Medical College, where she was also inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and received, among other awards, the Hobart Amory Hare Award. After a medical internship at Pennsylvania Hospital, Dr. Ambro completed her residency in dermatology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where she was Chief Resident. Notably, Dr. Ambro received training at the Sydney Melanoma Unit in Sydney, Australia. She practices general and cosmetic dermatology as well as dermatologic surgery and is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Ambro is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Medical Association.

Krista Buckley, DO earned her Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2000. She completed a transitional internship at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas in 2001 and was a general medical officer at Camp Carroll, South Korea from 2001-2002. She returned to complete her dermatology residency at Brooke Army Medical Center and Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas in 2005. Dr. Buckley served as Chief of Dermatology at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, North Carolina from 2005 to 2008 before joining Annapolis Dermatology Center in August of 2008. Dr. Buckley has published articles in dermatology and family medicine journals and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and DC Dermatological Society. She is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and practices general and cosmetic dermatology as well as dermatologic surgery.

Mark Eaton, MD received his M.D. from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Naval Medical Center San Diego in 2001 and was designated as a U.S. Naval Flight Surgeon at Naval Air Station Pensacola in 2002. His career in Flight Surgery included 6 years of service at Naval Support Activity, Souda Bay, Greece, and Naval Air Facility Washington, Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland, including deployment to Iraq in 2006. In 2010, Dr. Eaton completed his dermatology residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He served as Department Head of Dermatology at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, Naval Air Station, Jacksonville Florida from 2010 to 2013, where he also served as Assistant Professor of Dermatology with the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. He joined Annapolis Dermatology Center in September 2013. Dr. Eaton is board-certified in dermatology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology.

Ilene Bayer-Garner, MD is board-certified in dermatopathology jointly by the American Boards of Dermatology and Pathology. She attended the University of Calgary Medical School and completed her pathology residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Dr. Bayer-Garner completed her dermatopathology training in Houston TX at Baylor with biweekly joint melanocytic lesions conferences held at MD Anderson. She has been practicing dermatopathology in the Annapolis area since 2006. She is a fellow of the American Society of Dermatopathology and the College of American Pathology.

Marisa Braun, MD attended medical school at the University of Maryland. She completed an internship in pediatrics at the University of North Carolina and dermatology residency at George Washington University. She then completed a fellowship in Procedural Dermatology and Mohs Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Braun is a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology, the Washington DC Dermatological Society, the Women’s Dermatologic Society, and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. She is board-certified in dermatology.

Ali Damavandy, MD is a board-certified dermatologist who specializes in skin cancer surgery, including Mohs micrographic surgery and the subsequent reconstruction. He underwent fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery, dermatological oncology, and procedural dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Damavandy completed the 7-year BA/MD program at the George Washington University and graduated as the valedictorian of his medical school class. He then completed his internship in internal medicine at Harvard Medical School’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA and his residency in dermatology at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year. He is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa, Alpha Omega Alpha, and Gold Humanism Medical Honor Societies as well as the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American College of Mohs Surgery.

Joining the physicians of ADC are, Michelle DeMattia, PA-C and Danielle Goldberg, CRNP. Michelle DeMattia has a master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies specializing in dermatology from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and obtained her board-certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants in 2005. Danielle Goldberg is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner who earned her first Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland, where she graduated summa cum laude. She continued her studies to become a nurse practitioner at Johns Hopkins University where she received a second bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree and graduated top of her class.
