Dallas, TX – U.S. Dermatology Partners Shoal Creek office will now offer Mohs Surgery to Liberty and Northland area residents with the addition of Dr. Katy Lane on June 5th. Previously, skin cancer patients requiring Mohs Micrographic Surgery had to travel to the Lees Summit location for surgery.
Dr. Lane graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University. She earned her medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. She completed an internship in internal medicine at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, Calif., and a dermatology residency and fellowship at the University of California, Irvine.
Dr. Lane is trained in Mohs micrographic surgery, cutaneous oncology, laser medicine, and cosmetic dermatology. She is a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. She is particularly interested in the detection and treatment of skin cancer, cutaneous oncology, and facial reconstruction.
She was drawn to dermatology early. “As early as my teenage years, when I was diagnosed with cystic acne, I learned how important the appearance of healthy skin is to an overall sense of self and well-being,” Dr. Lane says. “Helping people to improve the appearance and health of their skin maximizes overall health in a noticeable and impactful way.”
Dermatology and Skin Cancer Centers was founded in 1987 by Dr. Glenn Goldstein and was one of the first practices to offer Mohs Micrographic Surgery for high-risk skin cancer patients. Headquartered in the Kansas City area, Dermatology and Skin Cancer Centers, now a part of U.S. Dermatology Partners, is recognized as one of the top treatment centers in the nation for skin cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
Dr. Lane was born and raised in Indiana and is excited to return to the Midwest. She enjoys hiking, skiing, watching football, reading, baking and spending time with her husband and two sons.
