Centreville, VA – Dr. Ali Damavandy, a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs Surgeon who specializes in skin cancer surgery including Mohs micrographic surgery and the subsequent reconstruction, now provides Mohs Surgery to patients in the Centreville office of Dermatology Associates of Northern Virginia.
Dr. Damavandy completed rigorous fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery, dermatological oncology and procedural dermatology at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.
He was a student in the accelerated seven-year bachelor’s degree and medical degree program at George Washington University, earning a bachelor of science degree in biology, summa cum laude, and graduating as the valedictorian of his medical school class. Dr. Damavandy completed his internship in internal medicine at Harvard Medical School’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Mass., and his residency in dermatology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., where he served as chief resident in his final year.
He is a member of many medical honor societies as well as the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American College of Mohs Surgery. He has written several manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals as well as book chapters and lectures nationally on cutaneous oncology and reconstructive surgery.
