Dr. Daniel Christiansen joins Dermatology and Skin Cancer Centers – now a part of U.S. Dermatology Partners. Dr. Christiansen will begin treating patients at U.S. Dermatology Partners Leawood, Overland Park and Joplin beginning Feb. 1. He is relocating from the St. Louis area and looks forward to providing full-time Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery to patients in Southeast Kansas and Southwest Missouri.
Dr. Christiansen is a board-certified dermatologist and a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon. He earned an undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia and completed his residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. He also completed a Mohs fellowship at Vanderbilt.
Dr. Christiansen is passionate about diagnosing and treating skin cancer. While he was training in medical school, residency and fellowship, he had the opportunity to work with several Mohs surgeons. “I greatly admired my mentors’ ability to remove skin cancer and maximize cosmetic outcomes for patients,” he says. “I do my best to emulate these techniques and provide comfort and guidance to patients and their families during the Mohs procedure.”
He believes that patient-centered care is crucial in helping patients achieve the best outcomes. “I enjoy helping patients and their families make informed decisions regarding their dermatologic health and provide patient-centered care when dealing with their skin cancers,” Dr. Christiansen says.
He is a dad to three young girls, and when’s not spending time with family, Dr. Christiansen enjoys reading and exercising.
