Nearly everyone has stubborn fat pockets on his or her body that they would like to have addressed. For some, it’s the love handles or thighs. For others it may be a pooch or “muffin top” on the abdomen. At Dermatology Associates of Northern Virginia, now a part of U.S. Dermatology Partners, we are dedicated to helping individuals achieve the results they desire and offer a variety of treatments including CoolSculpting, a non-surgical fat removal procedure.
What is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is FDA-approved for the removal of unwanted fat cells. It can be used on multiple areas of the body, including the stomach, back, thighs, and obliques, all of which are difficult areas to target with diet and exercise alone.
The device has two cooling panels that are positioned on either side of the targeted area. The device pulls the tissue in between the two panels as it cools it. The procedure begins with an intense cold feeling, but this will subside during the procedure. Patients are free to relax during their CoolSculpting session and watch TV, read a book, or even take a nap.
What kind of results does CoolSculpting produce?
Results from CoolSculpting will slowly appear in the weeks following the procedure as fat cells are eliminated from the body. Most patients will see full results within a few months. Results from CoolSculpting will remain long term if the patient continues to maintain a healthy diet and engage in exercise.
What does it cost?
CoolSculpting varies in price depending on the treatment area and the number of sessions required for optimum results. We’ll work with all patients during the consultation process to estimate the total investment and set proper expectations.
