At Dermatology Associates of Northern Virginia, now a part of U.S. Dermatology Partners,  we are dedicated to assisting patients in the Centreville area with their skin care concerns. Worldwide, more than a million people have trimmed their physiques without surgery. Patients in Centreville, Sterling, and Chantilly are also discovering how easy and comfortable it can be to remove muffin tops and stubborn love handles.

An FDA-approved procedure, CoolSculpting is based on the fact that you can kill fat cells with controlled cooling. Unlike “traditional” approaches to fat loss that shrink cells, allowing them to return to the problem area, once a fat cell is crystallized with CoolSculpting, and safely eliminated from the body, it is gone for good.

In the skilled hands of experienced, Board-certified dermatologists at the Dermatology Associates of Northern Virginia, a specially-designed applicator isolates problem spots between two cooling panels. In addition to treating the sides and belly, the device delivers powerful controlled cooling for fat reduction to inner and outer thighs.

Your experience with CoolSculpting is not unlike other noninvasive cosmetic procedures. You may feel slight pressure or discomfort as the cold temperatures are first applied. Otherwise, you are free to relax as the cooling goes to work to freeze the fat cells, a proven process known as cryolipolysis. When delivered by dermatological professionals, the technique is precise. The surrounding tissues are not affected.

Side effects are usually limited to short-lived redness, bruises, and tenderness that are restricted to the treated area. This is preferred to surgical approaches to fat reduction that have some risk, healing, and downtime.
