Professional Bio

Dr. Stover grew up in a farming community in Iowa and earned his bachelor’s degree from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine.

He served internships at La Crosse Lutheran Hospital in Wisconsin and Iowa Methodist Medical Center. He completed a dermatology residency with MetroHealth Medical Center and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Stover has practiced in Kansas and, most recently, in Wisconsin for 21 years.

“I have always enjoyed detective and mystery novels and find dermatology is somewhat like being a detective,” he says. “We observe and then try to deduce the cause of the problem. I also enjoy seeing the wide range of ages in a dermatology practice, doing skin surgery, and the basic science involved in this part of medicine.”

Dr. Stover’s main clinical interests include contact allergy, skin cancer, psoriasis, and atopic dermatitis, and he enjoys building relationships with patients.

“Most interesting is getting to know the story each patient is telling you,” Dr. Stover says.

Dr. Stover and his family are happy to have relocated to Kansas City, where most of their relatives live. He spends his free time pursuing landscape photography, snorkeling and diving, golf, gardening, and theater.
