Dr. Meyer is an active volunteer, serving underserved communities and children. His interest in dermatology began while he was a medical school student, volunteering in Ethiopia for four weeks. “It was in this isolated setting that I was first exposed to the field of dermatology, as a large majority of the complaints I handled were dermatologic in nature,” he says. “I further explored this newfound interest by volunteering at Camp Discovery, a summer camp hosted by the American Academy of Dermatology for children suffering from chronic skin conditions. I came to appreciate how the field of dermatology has the capability to substantially improve one’s self-esteem.” As a result of his innumerable volunteer experiences, he successfully founded a non-profit organization dedicated to extending educational opportunities to underprivileged children and their families around the world.
Dr. Meyer is a trained classical musician and continues to play piano. He also enjoys attending the symphony, working out and traveling, especially overseas.
