Approved by the FDA, Botox is a purified protein form of the botulism toxin. For decades, it was used to treat eye problems and reduce and soften moderate to severe frown lines. Typically, it is used between the brows, along with the sides of eyes (crow’s feet) and on the forehead. The procedure takes approximately 10 minutes and does not require anesthesia. You may return to work immediately. Results are noticeable within days, with maximum effects seen in 7 to 10. Botox relaxes the muscles for three months, after which another treatment is applied to sustain the effects.
Restylane is a dermal filler consisting of hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in the body. Used to fill in facial lines, it is probably the most widely used filler in the world at the present time. Restylane yields longer-lasting results than collagen, which was the gold standard for 20 years. Whereas collagen lasts three months and requires two test doses spaced a month apart, Restylane lasts up to six months and results are noticeable before you even leave the office.
Perlane is an FDA-approved dermal filler used to correct facial folds and wrinkles. Once injected into the skin, Perlane attracts and binds molecules of water to maintain volume. Also, composed of hyaluronic acid, the skin smoothing effects of Perlane injections typically last up to six months.
Radiesse is made of calcium-based microspheres suspended in a natural gel. The microspheres support and stimulate the growth of your own collagen. Over time, they break down and are safely absorbed by your body. Although Radiesse yields longer-lasting results than Restylane, the procedure requires a larger needle. Don’t let the needle scare you, however. An anesthetic can be added to the product for enhanced comfort. In an FDA-approved clinical study, Radiesse Volumizing Filler was proven to significantly reduce treatment-related pain when combined with the anesthetic, lidocaine. In fact, 90% of patients reported significant pain reduction.
As we age, our skin changes. The natural volume of youthful skin begins to diminish and changes form. With help from a dermatologist and Juvéderm injectable gel, you don’t have to just sit back and let it happen. Juvederm is the only hyaluronic acid filler that lasts up to 1 year and is FDA-approved. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps add volume and hydration. Your dermatologist eases Juvederm under the skin to instantly restore your skin’s volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds, like your smile lines or nasolabial folds. Juvederm provides a smooth, natural look and feel so everyone will notice, but no one will know. In fact, studies show superior results of Juvederm compared to collagen-based dermal fillers.

This safe, non-invasive procedure offers a non-surgical solution to many skin diseases and conditions.
Does it Hurt?
No anesthetics are required for this type of treatment. Most patients will feel a slightly warm or tingling sensation during treatment. Additionally, the skin is protected by Candela’s dynamic cooling method while being treated.
Is PDL Treatment Safe?
Yes. This treatment has been successfully used since the 1980s for the treatment of port wine stain birthmarks in young children and infants.
Are Results Permanent?
Permanent results depend on many factors such as the condition being treated, or the lifestyle of the patient. For example, a patient that has sun spots removed yet continues to spend time in the sun without adequate skin protection will most likely develop sun spots again.
How soon will I see results?
Most patients notice results immediately. While results may vary based on condition, results will be noticeable after just a few treatments.
Are there any side effects?
Some patients experience redness or mild swelling in the treated area immediately after treatment. These side effects usually disappear after a few hours.
